The only thing this needed to be perfect, would've been to mention this: https://www.newsweek.com/abortion-rights-advocates-hit-back-gop-cammack-2089913. Other than that, I loved it.

I find the whole sentiment of this essay to be disgusting.

Tragedy should not evoke feelings of "Justice" "Joy" or "Laughter".

People are dead, many of them children. That's a tragedy regardless of what the politics involved.

Can you imagine the reaction if this post was about how we shouldn't feel bad for kids in Gaza, because of their parents' politics?

Yes, that is the appropriate response to dead kids.

The answers to all these objections are already in the article.

The tragedy is this happening BECAUSE terrible, blindness, faith driven politics

Disgusting is trying to deflect the issue mentioning children in gaza, that are being murdered, and maimed and raped by people who wants to seize the land where their families have lived for centuries.

I guess you think they are as guilty as those who have the power to change things for the better in your country, but choose not to.

"The tragedy is this happening BECAUSE terrible, blindness, faith driven politics"

I think that also describes the tragedy in Gaza as well as countless other times and places across human history.

If you are at the point where you are so devoid of empathy for your fellow human beings that you feel joy when their children die, you've lost the plot and have yourself succumbed to the exact type of us vs them politics which is tearing this country apart.

I will say that I appreciate the primal nature of the article, I understand its more of an art piece expressing an emotion than a call to action, but I still feel its dehumanizing and sending an unhealthy message.

I have no sympathy bandwidth left for the people of Gaza, or Israel, or Russia, or Texas, or West Virginia. They have built their own abattoir. I will save my sympathy for the brave Ukrainians, the abuelas in ICE detention, and all decent people caught up regressive systems.
